2 PhD Fellowships - Biotechnology, University of Valladolid

There are two research projects about Cell therapy in ocular surface disease (stem cell deficiency) and Cell therapy in retina disease (age-related macular degeneration, ARMD)
The Networking Research Centre on Bioengineering, Biomaterials and Nanomedicine (CIBER-BBN), Carlos III Health Institute (Ministry of Health, Spain) and the Castilla and Leon Centre for Regenerative Medicine and Cell Therapy (Junta de Castilla y León, Spain) offer two PRE-doctoral positions at the IOBA (Institute for Applied Ophthalmobiology), University of Valladolid, in two research projects:
1) Cell therapy in ocular surface disease (stem cell deficiency) and
2) Cell therapy in retina disease (age-related macular degeneration, ARMD)


Required Profile:
- MSc title (Licenciado) in Biology, Biochemistry, Medicine, Biotechnology or other Health Sciences
- Average academic score higher than 2.0
- High level of English (written and oral)
- Clearly aimed at devoting his/her carer in stem cell therapy and tissue engineering in the eye

We offer:
- Full time job contract until end of 2007, with possibilities of extension up to 2010 or longer. Initial gross salary between 20000-23000 EUR with yearly increase
- To be part of an academic environment with future possibilities of involvement in teaching activities
- To engage in the IOBA PhD program in Visual Sciences, aimed at obtaining a PhD degree
