PhD Studentship in Design of Interactive e-Learning Systems, Brunel University, West London, UK

Applications are invited from suitable candidates from the UK or other EU countries for a Research Studentship related to the following project:

Research Group: Information Systems Evaluation and Integration (ISEing)
Investigation: The Design of Interactive e-learning Systems
Leader: Dr Chris Evans (chris.evans@brunel.ac.uk)

This project considers the effects of interactivity in the use of e-learning systems. A major part of the project is to investigate the effects of incorporating different kinds of interactivity into system interfaces, particularly with respect to their enhancement of either memory or understanding. Other aspects to the project include investigating mobile learning technologies such as podcasting, and collaborative learning environments arising from Web 2.0 technologies (e.g. blogs, wikis, and Second Life).

Start Date: January/February, 2008.

Candidates will have at least a 2.1 class degree and ideally a Masters degree in a relevant discipline. The terms of the bursary are the full payment of Home/EU fees for three years, and GBP 12, 600 per year (subject to annual review and satisfactory progress). The successful candidate will be required to teach for up to 150 hours per academic year.

The Department of Business Studies at Aarhus School of Business, University of Aarhus invites applications for a postdoc in accounting. The Accounting Research Group covers management ac-counting and control, financial accounting and auditing. The accounting research group has a broad range of research interests in the fields of financial accounting, corporate governance, cost account-ing, management information systems, performance measurements and management control. As well as undertaking research in specific accounting techniques, we are concerned about methodological and social aspects of management accounting. The position as post. doc. is a three-year tenure-track position with an obligation to conduct re-search and teaching. Applicants must have completed their Ph.D. before taking up the position.
