KOF Swiss Economic Institute at the ETH Zurich offers various positions as (Senior) Researchers and Doctoral Students KOF is the leading economic research institute in Switzerland (www.kof.ethz.ch). Our research activities concentrate on the following three areas:
1. Swiss business cycle developments,
2. Switzerland in a globalised world, and
3. long-term growth perspectives of Switzerland.


KOF works in close collaboration with the Chair of Applied Macroeconomics and the Center for Economic Research at the ETH Zurich (www.cer.ethz.ch).

Job descriptions:
To analyse and forecast economic developments of a small open economy like Switzerland, we apply econometric time series and panel data techniques on both macro- as well as microeconomic data. The vacant positions intend to strengthen our competences in all fields of applied econometrics.

Job profiles and requirements:
Candidates are expected to either hold a Ph.D. in economics (with emphasis on applied econometric analysis), or to be interested in acquiring a PhD in one of the research areas of KOF. Good writing skills are required. The main focus of this position will be on research. The appointment includes opportunities for teaching courses related to the candidate’s field of interest. Basic knowledge of German is required. Knowledge of English and/or French is considered to be of advantage.

What we offer:
As a (Senior) Researcher in a leading research institute integrated in the ETH Zurich, you will have the opportunity to conduct academic and policy-relevant economic research in an inspiring environment. The appointment includes the opportunity of writing either a dissertation or a ‘Habilitation’ in the candidate’s field of interest. Gross salary will be in accordance with the regulations of the ETH Zurich.
