Germany: PhD Position in Architecture Design Group, The Institute for Integrated Signal Processing Systems (ISS), RWTH Aachen
The Institute for Integrated Signal Processing Systems of RWTH Aachen University has an immediate opening in the Architecture Design Group: Research Assistant – PhD Candidate. Our interest is in the analysis and synthesis of algorithms and architectures for future complex wireless communication systems. The focus of the architecture group is on new design methodologies for energy efficient, flexible circuits. Main research topics of this group are architectures for Application Specific Instruction-set Processors (ASIPs), in particular, with reconfigurable extensions, and their synthesis onto modern deep sub-micron technologies. Of special interest is the trade-off between flexibility in software (programmability) and hardware (FPGA-type structures). These investigations are performed in collaboration with the institute’s algorithm and tool groups as well as with the interdisciplinary research teams of the research cluster “Ultra high-speed Mobile Information and Communication (UMIC)”. ...
