POST-DOCTORAL POSITION available to study Pancreatic Beta Cell Biology and Diabetes. Beta cell death is a key factor in the development of type 1 and type 2 diabetes, but the mechanisms involved are not known. Our lab recently identified a novel target pathway of beta cell survival and diabetes prevention. Using cutting edge technology, projects now focus on apoptosis, oxidative stress, cell cycle, and the regulation of gene expression by chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP). Studies also involve physiological and histological analysis of mutant and KO mouse models and generation of new congenic mouse lines. USA: Postdoctoral Position - Cellular Immunology, University of Texas Health Center, Tyler

A postdoctoral position is available to understand the mechanisms by which natural killer (NK) cells lyse macrophages infected with M. tuberculosis (J Immunol 168:35203526, 2002, J Immunol 172:130137, 2004, J Immunol 175: 46114617, 2005 and J Immunol 2006 177:6192-8).
