School of Interactive Arts and Technology (SIAT) at Simon Fraser University in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada has an immediate 1 year opening for a post-doctoral fellow to work on LORNET Research. SIAT is responsible for research in Theme 1 “Interoperability” that covers a wide range of approaches to interoperability between systems and people in the context of educational and knowledge sharing systems.
Prerequisites include technical programming skills, knowledge of the semantic web and ontologies, and an understanding of open educational resource development and repositories. In addition to carrying his or her own research, the successful applicant is expected to work closely with the graduate students and coordinate their projects to work towards Theme’s goals within the LORNET project. An ability to apply research in practical contexts and to transfer research beyond the academic communities will be considered a strong asset.
