China: 2 Postdoctoral Fellows - Experimental Particle Physics, Institute of High Energy Physics, Beijing
The Experimental Center at Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP) is seeking applicants for two postdoctoral fellows in experimental particle physics. The successful candidate would perform research on the BESIII experiment, and would be resident at Institute of High Energy Physics in Beijing. They will participate in the ongoing test of the BESIII software and data challenges to BESIII detector performances as well as the preparations of physics analysis at the start of BEPCII running.
We are seeking one of the candidates with a strong background in computing, software algorithms development, he/she will play a leading role to establish better communication with our software colleagues. The second candidate should work on the future detector performance test of BESIII, and establish a bridge between physics preparation group and BESIII sub-detector system, he/she will take the leading role from the side of physics preparations at the start of BESIII data taking, for example, assist to set up low-level trigger or possible high-level trigger at BESIII and join the discussion of data taking plan and so on.
To qualify, the candidate should have a PhD in Experimental High Energy Physics or will get a PhD next year and have demonstrated potential for outstanding achievement as an independent researcher. Interested applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, description of research experience and arrange for two letters of recommendation to be sent to:
Dr. Hai-Bo Li

P.O.Box 8730
Beijing 100080
P.R.China
Or sent by e-mail to lihb@ihep.ac.cn or Miss Jia Ying-Hua at jiayh@ihep.ac.cn
Applications will be accepted until the position is filled but should be received by September 31, 2007 to receive full consideration. The appointment is for 2 years and fixed.
