The ZMT invites applications for a PostDoc position (three years) in social research on tropical coastal environments Research will be carried out in close collaboration with the Research Center for Sustainability Studies (artec), a central unit of Bremen University. Relevant areas include: coastal zone and watershed management; vulnerability and environmental justice; land use change; natural resource policy; environmental governance.
Applicants should have a PhD in social sciences, human geography, development research or related fields; a distinct research record in one of the areas mentioned above; and a high quality publishing record as well as experience in fund raising and project management. They should be willing and able to travel to the tropics, contribute to the supervision of post graduate students and teach to a limited extent at Bremen University.
Payment will be according to the German public wage agreement TV-L. Starting date is Sept, 1st, 2007. ZMT and the University of Bremen are equal opportunity employers. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.
