Nine PhD Studentships Innovative Design and Construction of Healthcare Facilities Department of Civil and Building Engineering
Applications are invited for a doctoral studentship in the Department of Civil and Building Engineering at Loughborough University, leading to the award of a PhD degree. Fees could be paid at international student rates for exceptional candidates, in addition to a £12,300 per annum tax free stipend for living expenses.
Eligibility:

1. Modernising existing healthcare facilities and co-ordination on live projects.
2. Resource optimisation during refurbishment/space-relocation.
3. Designing sustainable healthcare facilities.
4. Modelling and simulation of innovative healthcare design and construction solutions.
5. Value Engineering of Hospital Designs and development of holistic models of value.
6. Management of design knowledge and lessons learnt for continuous improvement.
7. Application of modern methods of construction to healthcare facilities.
8. Design of space to support clinical recovery.
9. Future-proofed design solutions for flexibility and adaptability.
10. Continuous improvement through stakeholder engagement.
11. Innovative design solutions.
