Due to a resignation, the Department of Anthropology at Cornell has reopened a search for a postdoctoral fellow. Funding from the Mellon Foundation will provide a two-year post-doctoral fellowship for a candidate with an outstanding record in areas that broadly relate to the topics of "public intellectuals" and "the place of narrative in the humanities." The fellow is expected to teach one course per semester, according to the needs of the department, and attend the Faculty Seminar in the Humanities which will meet for two hours per week. In 2007-08, the Seminar will focus on the public intellectual; (including, for instance, political "performance" [or another formulation appropriate to your field]). In 2008-09, the Seminar will focus on the place of narrative in the humanities.
