A postdoctoral position for a PhD geneticist/molecular biologist is available at The Scripps Research Institute-Florida in the Department of Cancer Biology for studies on the biology of meiotic recombination hotspots. Our research focus is defining the mechanisms that regulate mammalian genome turnover using mice as a model system. Comprehensive tools have been developed to unravel the mechanisms directing recombination hotspots, which allow us to address fundamental questions regarding genome plasticity and evolution in a complex yet genetically facile system.
Successful candidates will work in a cutting-edge research environment that tackles this important field in genome biology. High-throughput Core Services of The Scripps Research Institute-Florida include genomics, cell-based screening, proteomics, informatics, and drug discovery. The position provides an outstanding training program in molecular biology, genomics, and genome biology and evolution, in a dynamic and team-oriented research program
