POST-DOCTORAL POSITION available to study Pancreatic Beta Cell Biology and Diabetes.
Beta cell death is a key factor in the development of type 1 and type 2 diabetes, but the mechanisms involved are not known. Our lab recently identified a novel target pathway of beta cell survival and diabetes prevention. Using cutting edge technology, projects now focus on apoptosis, oxidative stress, cell cycle, and the regulation of gene expression by chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP). Studies also involve physiological and histological analysis of mutant and KO mouse models and generation of new congenic mouse lines.
Strong molecular biology experience and interest in mouse studies are required. Development towards an independent research career is encouraged. Qualified candidates with a Ph.D. and less than 3 years of post-doctoral experience are invited to apply. The position is available immediately, but the start date is negotiable.
Application
Please send C.V. and 3 references to:
Dr. Anath Shalev, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Dept. of Medicine, H4/526 Clinical Science Center, 600 Highland Ave. Madison, WI 53792
