USA: Postdoctoral Fellow - Clinical Psychology, Seattle Institute for Biomedical and Clinical Research
MIRECC Postdoctoral Fellowship position through the University of Washington, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and the VA Puget Sound Health Care System (VAPSHCS), Tacoma WA.
A two-year postdoctoral fellowship is available through the Seattle Institute for Biomedical and Clinical Research at the VAPSHCS, Mental Illness Research, Education, and Clinical Center (MIRECC) for individuals who have completed a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical psychology. The primary goals for this postdoctoral fellowship are: 1) develop an understanding of the diagnostic, clinical and pharmacological issues related to chronic mental illness and addictions treatment, 2) develop an in-depth knowledge of new pharmacological and clinical approaches to the treatment of these disorders, 3) develop proficiency in clinical assessments of persons with these disorders, 4) develop proficiency in providing evidence-based psychological treatment, and 5) develop proficiency in conducting all aspects of clinical research within the VA mental health system.
This fellowship will provide opportunities to become involved in research programs designed to find new treatments and further our understanding of chronic mental illness. Fellows will also participate in novel research treatments of substance abuse/dependence including testing, provision of clinical services and coordination of research.
