NIH- and DOD-funded postdoctoral positions are available in the area of tumor biology and vascular biology to study (1) the role of Angiopoietins (Ang1-4) and Angiopoietin-like proteins (Angptl-1-7) in tumor angiogenesis and the mechanisms underlying their involvement in the progression of human gliomas and melanomas; (2) the role of ADAMTSs (A Disintegrin And Metalloproteinase with ThromboSpondin motifs) and ADAMs (A Disintegrin And Metalloproteinase) and the underlying mechanism of their involvement in angiogenesis, invasion, and metastasis of human ovarian and breast cancers; and (3) the contributions of the signals derived from different isoforms of CD44 to the formation and maintenance of cancer stem cells and to the progression of carcinomas.
The candidates must have a Ph.D. degree with a strong background in at least one of the following areas: tumor, vascular, cell, and/or molecular biology. A strong background in bioinformatics and/or chemical biology is a plus.
Motivated individuals should send a description of research interests, curriculum vitae, and the names, phone number, and E-mail addresses of three references to:
