The Physics Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory invites applicants for two post-doc positions in the PHENIX team of the Subatomic Physics Group (P-25). The PHENIX team currently works primarily on RHIC spin and heavy ion physics, on the exploration of heavy-ion physics topics at the LHC, and on nucleon structure physics at Fermilab. The team also leads the construction of the two PHENIX muon trackers and is leading the upgrade project to install a forward silicon vertex tracker into the PHENIX detector.
The successful candidate will participate in our spin and/or heavy ion physics program, working on a combination of physics analysis and hardware tasks. The candidate must have a Ph.D. in physics, preferably nuclear or particle physics, and it must be less than 5 years since the Ph.D. was granted. The post-doc term is for 2 years, with an option to renew for a third year.
Application
Potential candidates should submit a resume and three letters of reference to mbrooksatlanl.gov. Details about the LANL post-doc program can be found at: http://lanl.gov/science/postdocs.
