Applications are invited for a 1-year Post Doc position starting January 1, 2008, within the field of cryptology at the Department of Mathematics (www.mat.dtu.dk). The topic of the project is cryptanalysis of symmetric cryptographic primitives, in particular block ciphers, stream ciphers and hash functions. The project is part of an international collaboration and will be carried out in co-operation with the IAIK department of the Graz University of Technology in Austria led by Professor Vincent Rijmen.
Candidates should have a PhD degree in applied mathematics, computer science, or engineering or academic qualifications equivalent to the PhD degree in engineering and they should have demonstrated qualifications within the area of symmetric-key encryption algorithms. The candidate must be well versed in written and spoken English.
The project is financed by the Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation. The salary and appointment terms are negotiated in accordance with the current collective agreement for Danish University faculty members.
