A postdoctoral position is available for 2 years to study signaling events leading to apoptosis in response to loss of cell-extracellular matrix adhesion (anoikis) and the mechanisms of resistance to this type of programmed cell death in cancer cells (see Oncogene 2006, 25: 7680-90, J Biol Chem 2006, 281:14738-47, J Biol Chem 2005, 280:37383-92 as well as Dr. Rosen's research interests at http://www.biochem.dal.ca).
Research will be conducted within the Atlantic Research Centre which is a division of Department of Pediatrics. The Centre is comprised of a group of investigators with common interests in cell signaling, apoptosis, cancer and lipids. The laboratory is well equipped for studies in molecular and cell biology and has access to state-of-the-art cell imaging and proteomics facilities.
Qualifications: Recent PhD with training documented by publications in international peer-reviewed journals. Background in molecular and cell biology is preferred.
