A research position is available in the Head and Neck Tumor Biology Laboratory, where breakthroughs are being made in survival and progression of squamous cell carcinoma. Specific areas of interest are apoptosis, transcription factor regulation and signal transduction cascades leading to cytokine production and cell proliferation. Adenovirus gene transfer therapy and other gene therapy techniques are utilized for in vitro and in vivo studies. The candidate should be a motivated and team-oriented individual.
The applicant should have experience using the following techniques: small animal handling and procedures; mammalian cell culture; molecular biology techniques (protein and DNA/RNA): protein and nucleic acid electrophoresis, protein purification, western immunoblotting, ELISA, immunohistochemistry, DNA and RNA isolation, PCR and RT-PCR, transformation and transfection, plasmid production, cloning and purification, electromobility shift assay (EMSA), immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry.
Responsibilities will include planning and performing experiments, supervision and teaching of residents and students, laboratory management, and analysis and presentation of data using conventional computer software programs.
Qualified applicants should send a c.v. and contact information for at least 2 references to: dianne.duffey@yale.edu
