Topic “Development of a cotranslational protein structure prediction algorithm and associated software”
We are looking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with strong quantitative skills to undertake research in the area of protein structure prediction. The position will be based at Macquarie University in Sydney, in the group of Professor Graham Wood. The appointment is for a period of three years.
Essential criteria
1. Experience in bioinformatics research.
2. Ability to programme in a low level language, such as C or C++.
3. Ability to work in a team.
Desirable criteria
1. Experience in mathematical optimisation.
2. A background in protein structure.
The project is jointly supervised with Dr. Charlotte Deane of the Centre for Bioinformatics at the University of Oxford. International travel (to Oxford) and domestic travel is likely to be involved.
The salary, in 2008, will start at A$61,155, increment yearly and include superannuation. A removal allowance is available where appropriate.
