The MA in International Political Economy offers a specialization in the rich interactions between economic systems and political institutions. It is based on the belief that an examination of these interactions provides students with a better understanding of pressing social challenges and public policy choices.
The Master’s Program is designed for an international student body by a faculty strongly committed to interdisciplinary studies. The program shares its interest in the globalization process with two companion programs, Comparative Politics & Society and International Communication, from which students can choose optional courses. While the focus of the program is on current political economy issues, it also provides students with insight into the historical dimensions of the globalization process.
Financial Assistance
Financial assistance may be made available to master’s Students and doctoral candidates. Financial assistance from University resources is not provided to Students enrolled in professional master’s Programs. Students may apply for financial assistance at the same time as they apply for admission to a Graduate Degree Program. Students complete the application for graduate financial assistance, which is an integral part of the graduate application form. For details please refer to the Graduate Admission Website.
Decisions concerning admission and financial assistance are made separately. Stipends and financial assistance for Graduate Students at Jacobs University Bremen are coordinated by the Dean of the School or Center to which applicants will be admitted in consultation with the Faculty of the respective School or Center.
