Graduate student positions are available from January 1st 2008 (or upon agreement) in our laboratory at the Institute of Biochemistry, ETH in Zurich. The project aims to elucidate the function of Telomeric Repeat containing RNA (TERRA) at chromosome ends in mammalian cells (for more information please visit this link).
We will exploit combinations of genetic, cell-biological and biochemical tools available in mammalian cell cultures to reveal possible TERRA-associated roles in telomere length maintenance, cancer etiology and cellular senescence.
We are seeking motivated students with a background in molecular biology and tissue culture. We offer a friendly, enthusiastic and interactive environment. Our staff is international and the working language is English.
Applications including CV and names of two referees can be sent (if possible electronically) to:
Claus M. Azzalin, PhD
Institute of Biochemistry
Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH)
ETH-Hönggerberg
CH-8093 Zürich, Switzerland
