The Scientific Computing Group in the Computational Research Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral fellow to work on the development of computational algorithms and their application to scientific areas that are of interest to the US Department of Energy and LBNL. The current emphasis is large-scale nuclear structure calculations.
The research activities will include the analysis of the performance profile and algorithmic complexity of existing computational codes; the improvement of the efficiency and reliability of existing codes; and the development of novel algorithms on petascale high performance computers.
