3 scholarships are available at Faculty of Physics and Applied Computer Science AGH University of Science and Technology, Cracow, Poland in the group “Nanostructures on surfaces”. Master theses will focus on preparation and characterization of nanostructures for magnetic and catalytic applications. Experimental approaches will include advanced studies of complex systems ranging from flat epitaxial films with exposed surfaces and buried interfaces to nanosystems with lateral confinement, as for example nanowires and nanoclusters.
The studied metal and oxide nanostructures will find forefront applications as model catalysts and elements of spintronic devices. Simultaneously numerical modelling will be performed. The Master projects are planned for 18 months with an option to extend the work in a PhD student ship. Further details and application procedure may be found at http://korek.uci.agh.edu.pl/.
