U.S.-Mexico Training, Internships, Exchanges, and Scholarships (TIES) Initiative
Higher Education for Development (HED), in cooperation with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), anticipates making up to five awards of up to $300,000 each as part of the U.S.-Mexico Training, Internships, Exchanges, and Scholarships (TIES) Initiative. These three-year partnerships will focus on strengthening higher education capacity in two areas:* Biodiversity Conservation, Climate Change, and Competitiveness
* Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency, and Competitiveness
These higher education partnerships include objectives to:
* Strengthen curricula in the specified focus areas
* Provide scholarships
* Provide opportunities for exchange of Mexican and U.S. scientists and scholars
* Help build the higher education capacity of Mexican partner institutions
