All essays should be 1000-1500 words in length and should preferably be submitted in Microsoft Word or pdf format.
Applicants are not required to be a Texas resident to apply or win the scholarship; however, since Rogers Law Firm is located in Texas, the ideal essay will utilize or analyze Texas facts, statistics or laws in some way.
By submitting your essay to Rogers Law Firm, you grant all copyright ownership of the essay to Rogers Law Firm and permission of the law firm to post your essay (or portions thereof) on Rogers Law Firm's website with your name and the name of your school, and permission to share your essay (or portions thereof) on all social media and any all marketing materials of the law firm. Rogers Law Firm may publish all finalists' essays (or portions thereof), name, and name of school.

The winner of the scholarship will then be announced and payment issued on or before December 31, 2015.

- Large trucks and eighteen wheelers are continuing to cause significant motor vehicle accidents, injuries and death in Texas and the United States. Please analyze the severity of the issue, facts and statistics, case studies, research on the issue, laws that have been enacted or proposed in the US or Texas to deal with the issue, and/or possible solutions/safety advice/tips for the public to deal with the issue.
- Impaired and/or distracted driving (including but not limited to driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and using cell phones while driving) remains a significant issue in Texas and the United States resulting in numerous motor vehicle accidents, injuries and death. Please analyze the severity of the issue, the dangers and risks associated with impaired and/or distracted driving, facts and statistics, case studies regarding the issue, laws that have been enacted or proposed in the US or Texas to deal with the issue, and/or possible solutions and safety advice/tips for the public to deal with the issue.
- Motorcycle accidents continue to result in severe injuries and death. Please analyze the severity of the issue, facts and statistics, case studies, research on the issue, laws that have been enacted or proposed in the US or Texas to deal with the issue, and/or possible solutions/safety advice/tips for the public to deal with the issue.
